Maegan Lamb is from Clinton, North Carolina and completed her Pre-Pharmacy studies
at the University of South Carolina through the Gamecock Pharmacy Assurance Program.
Completing an internship and working as a pharmacy technician at Matthews Health Mart
in Clinton, NC, allowed her to experience the accessibility, expertise, and adaptability
of the field of pharmacy. This internship sparked Maegan’s interest in clinical pharmacy,
specifically ambulatory care, infectious disease, and cardiology.
Maegan is currently the President-Elect for the UofSC chapter of the American College
of Clinical Pharmacy and serves in the 114th UofSC Student Senate as the delegation
chair for the College of Pharmacy. She is involved with the UofSC Chapter of Kappa
Epsilon and works at Walgreens and Prisma Health Outpatient Pharmacy, providing her
with both retail and clinical pharmacy experience.
Chancellor Nguyen is from Aiken, South Carolina. He decided to pursue pharmacy after
seeing the incredible and inspiring work of the pharmacy leaders in his hometown.
As a first-generation student, he had his heart set on attending the University of
South Carolina College of Pharmacy because of the program’s commitment to the student
learning experience and its excellence in preparing the next generation’s health care
Chancellor is a Jack Kent Cooke Graduate Scholar, and is involved in graduate research,
the American Pharmaceutical Association-Academy of Student Pharmacists, and the National
Community Pharmacists Association. He is currently employed at Prisma Health Outpatient
Pharmacy. Chancellor is passionate about serving underserved communities and hopes
to pursue a career in hospital, community, or pharmacy administration.
Nikki Chen is from Columbia, South Carolina. Completing her pharmacy prerequisites
through the Gamecock Pharmacy Assurance Program at the University of South Carolina,
Nikki found that pharmacy’s many career fields fueled the curiosity she has for learning.
She has explored her passion for bringing innovation and creativity to unconventional
administrative, legislative, and pharmaceutical industry careers throughout the past
year during her internship at Nephron Pharmaceuticals Corporation in the regulatory
Nikki currently serves as President of the Student Society of Health-systems Pharmacy,
Vice President of her pharmacy class, and Worthy Correspondent for the Beta Theta
chapter of Phi Delta Chi pharmacy fraternity. She is also involved in the South Carolina
Pharmacy Association as a Junior Board Member as well as working in multiple research
Danny Schreiber is from Toms River, New Jersey and completed his prerequisites at
UofSC before beginning the Doctor of Pharmacy program in the College of Pharmacy.
Danny currently serves as the HIV/AIDS Remember the Ribbon Chair for the UofSC chapter
of the Student National Pharmaceutical Association and the International Vice President
for the American Pharmaceutical Association Academy of Student Pharmacists. Additionally,
he has worked on various research projects.
As a result of these experiences, Danny is interested in clinical pharmacy with a
focus in infectious diseases, specifically HIV. He hopes to work at the intersection
of pharmacy, research, and public health to benefit historically marginalized communities.
Jordan Jones is from Blythewood, South Carolina, and earned a bachelor’s degree in
biomedical sciences from Morehead State University in Morehead, Kentucky. She always
knew she wanted to work in healthcare but decided on pharmacy in high school. Jordan
is interested in clinical pharmacy and is currently exploring different specialties.
She is currently Vice Chair of the Mentor Program for incoming pharmacy students,
which ensures each student has somebody from the second-year class to help guide them
through their first year at the College of Pharmacy. She is also involved with the
Beta Theta chapter of Phi Delta Chi and Pediatric Pharmacy Association. Jordan works
at Prisma Health Outpatient Pharmacy, which offers her both retail and clinical experience.
Shannon Leighton graduated from the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Florida,
with her degree in biomedical sciences. She decided to pursue pharmacy as a career
when she was in middle school. Shannon is interested in specializing in clinical pharmacy,
with her key interests being either ambulatory care or infectious disease. In the
past year, her interests have also leaned towards policy and she hopes to gain more
experience in this area.
Shannon is currently serving as President-Elect for the UofSC Student National Pharmaceutical
Association chapter, whose mission is to serve the underserved population. She is
also a student ambassador for the college and sits as a student member in the Student
Policy and Professionalism Committee. Shannon has had about four years of retail pharmacy
experience and has recently begun work in hospital pharmacy. She currently has a position
at Prisma Health Richland working in the IV room.
