Background

Donna J. Walker began her career working with her dad as a pharmacist at Cedar Terrace Pharmacy in Columbia, South Carolina. As a student at the University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy, she was one of the founding members of the Zeta Chapter of Phi Lambda Sigma. Subsequently, she moved to Washington, D.C. to work for the American Pharmacists Association, the national professional society for pharmacists. After receiving her MBA, she joined 3M Pharmaceuticals in Minneapolis. She held various leadership positions within the pharmaceutical division, including sales, marketing, and international management. Later, she served as the North American Sales and Marketing Director for the 3M Telecom Division in Austin, Texas.

In 1997, Donna and her husband, Mark Pulido, founded the Pulido Walker Foundation, which is focused on youth development. In addition to her activities with Pulido Walker Foundation, Donna has been involved with numerous other community organizations including the Boys and Girls Clubs in San Francisco and the Rancho Santa Fe Community Center. She is the immediate past Chair of the Rancho Santa Fe Women’s Fund and is President-elect of The Bishop's School Parent Association. In 2013, Donna agreed to create and endow the Walker Pharmacy Leadership Scholars Endowment Fund for $525,000, launching a student leadership initiative that will identify, educate and recognize pharmacy student leaders at her alma mater.

Background

Kathy Quarles Moore, R.Ph., is a graduate of the University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy where she received her bachelor's degree in pharmacy. She grew up working with her father, Wallace C. Quarles, R.Ph,, (1959 B.S. Pharmacy) at Taylor Street Pharmacy in Columbia, South Carolina, where he inspired her desire to practice pharmacy by observing his positive patient interactions. 

She is currently the Lab Director of Community and Compounding labs at the University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy. Quarles Moore serves as the USC College of Pharmacy Museum Curator and she is the Christian Pharmacists Fellowship International faculty advisor. She is also a practicing independent retail pharmacist at Riley’s Drugs in Lexington, South Carolina, and Apothecare Pharmacy in Leesville, South Carolina.

Stephen J. Cutler

Background

Stephen J. Cutler, Ph.D., has been a pharmacy educator for almost 30 years.  He has been a faculty member at 2 private institutions and 2 public institutions, which afford him a broad perspective of the educational needs of student pharmacists.  

In addition to being a pharmacy educator, Dean Cutler is a natural products chemist whose research interests are focused on the isolation, biological evaluation and structural elucidation of bioactive secondary metabolites from nature.  Most of his recent research activities have involved the investigation of natural products that are selective for the cannabinoid and opioid receptor types.

Background

Christi Epps, Pharm.D., is the CEO of Longs Pharmacy Solutions and has spearheaded its emergence as a leading provider of retail and specialty pharmacy services and solutions. Christi focuses on creating enterprise value while maintaining excellent customer service as the core value of the company. With a national presence and over 30 locations, Christi leads nearly 500 employees with a focus and commitment to help everyone live better lives though customer-focused pharmacy services and a commitment to community support.

Prior to Longs, Christi served the South Carolina Autoimmune Division of CVS Caremark Specialty Pharmacy. She came to CVS from K-Mart after serving 14 years as a Pharmacy Manager. Christi joined the Longs team in 2005 and has served in multiple roles within the company prior to becoming CEO. As a pharmacist, she supported the organic growth of the company from seven locations to twenty locations. As Director of Business Development and Director of Operations, she expanded the company’s presence in the HIV and Autoimmune Diseases market, as well as led the strategic and operational performance of the company.

Christi supports United Way of the Midlands, South Carolina College of Pharmacy, Converse College, the Mental Illness Recovery Center and the Prisma Health Atrium Society.  She serves as an advisor for the Walker Leadership Scholars at the University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy, a Trustee for the Central Carolina Community Foundation Board and a Trustee for Converse College. Christi earned her bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy in 1992 and her doctor of pharmacy degree from University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy in 1997.

Patti Fabel

Background

Patti Fabel, Pharm.D., is the Executive Director of the Kennedy Pharmacy Innovation Center and a clinical associate professor for the College of Pharmacy. She received her doctor of pharmacy degree from the University of Rhode Island College of Pharmacy in 2006 and completed a community pharmacy practice residency with Kroger Pharmacy in Georgia the following year. Fabel joined the South Carolina College of Pharmacy the following year while working as a pharmacist for Walgreens. During her time with Walgreens, Fabel acted as the district MTM lead, training and supporting pharmacists to provide clinical services.

In 2015, Dr. Fabel transitioned to Medicine Mart Pharmacy where she precepted residency students and worked with the Kennedy Pharmacy Innovation Center before becoming Director in 2017. Fabel has been highly involved with the American Pharmacists Association, serving as APPM Executive Committee Member at Large in 2018. She was advisor of the university’s APhA student chapter from 2009- 2017 and now serves as the National Community Pharmacists Association student chapter advisor.

Jennifer Baker

Background

Jennifer Baker, Pharm.D., is the director of experiential education and a clinical assistant professor for the College of Pharmacy. She received her doctor of pharmacy from the University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy in 2002 and is a licensed pharmacist in the state of South Carolina. Baker has been teaching the SC MPJE review for more than 10 years and serves as the course coordinator and faculty for the Pharmacy Law and Ethics course.

Prior to joining the faculty, she served as the director of professional affairs for the South Carolina Pharmacy Association from 2003 – 2012, where she taught and planned continuing education for pharmacy professionals and managed the Palmetto Pharmacist Network, which provides care for patients with diabetes enrolled in programs modeled after the Asheville Project in Charleston, Greenville and Spartanburg. She practiced at an independently owned community pharmacy in Columbia for more than five years. 

Kirk Randazzo

Background

Kirk A. Randazzo, Ph.D., is a highly sought speaker and scholar, both internationally and across the United States. As a respected political scientist, he teaches and conducts research on constitutional law and judicial politics, the rule of law in emerging democracies, and judicial independence. As a public speaker, his presentations focus on developing fundamental leadership skills and strategies for successful conflict management, team motivation, and public speaking. From 2013-2016 he served as the Director of the Carolina Leadership Initiative where he developed and implemented a new Minor in Leadership Studies for the University of South Carolina and helped undergraduate students focus on developing leadership skills.

Randazzo received a bachelor’s degree in music (1994) and a master’s degree in international studies (1997) from the University of South Carolina and a master’s degree (2000) and Ph.D. in political science from Michigan State University in 2003. From 2003-2008 he taught at the University of Kentucky and in 2008 returned to his alma mater as a Professor of Political Science and Leadership at the University of South Carolina. He also serves on various boards including Leadership Columbia, the USC Alumni Band, and is the ‘Voice of the Carolina Band.'

Terry Dixon joined the College of Pharmacy in 2012 and leads advancement initiatives for the college. Dixon has more than 22 years of experience within higher education and healthcare and has held other leadership roles overseeing fundraising, communications, special events and sponsorship marketing. She earned a master’s degree in educational administration from USC. She is a certified fundraising executive (CFRE) and earned a certificate in nonprofit management from Duke University.
